ALLOY & CARBON STEEL EN8
ALLOY & CARBON STEEL EN8
EN8 is an exceptionally prominent grade of through-hardening medium carbon steel, which is promptly machinable in any condition.
EN8 likewise know as 080M40. Unalloyed medium carbon steel. EN8 is a medium quality steel, great rigidity. Appropriate for shafts, focused on pins, studs, keys and so forth.
EN8 in its warmth treated structures has great homogenous metallurgical structures, giving reliable machining properties.
It is therefore prescribed that bigger sizes of EN8 are supplied in the untreated condition, and that any warmth treatment is done after initial stock removal. This should achieve better mechanical properties towards the core.
